JTA JAPAN TRADEMARK ASSOCIATION / Our aim is to seek protection of marks, trademarks and trade names, etc., and to conduct research, study and proposal to enhance and improve the intellectual property system.

The Japan Trademark Association (JTA) was established on November 28, 1988 as an independent association.
As of November 2024, JTA has 883 members consisting of 5 advisors, 459 individual members, 16 special members (academic experts) as well as 257 corporate members and 146 other legal entity members. Corporations, attorneys and patent attorneys, and professors, who share the common interest in trademarks and the related field, collaboratively engage in various activities such as research and studies, policy advocacy, information exchange, mutual development of the members. Mutual communication among the members is also encouraged at JTA.
